Guild Clan Website Hosting Benefits

5:35 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

For many gamers, guild clan website hosting can mean the difference between a guilds life or death, literally. Whether a new or seasoned guild leader, having a personal home on the internet ensures the groups ability to collaborate, discuss, and plan future events. Guild Clan Website Hosting has many benefits: planning, communication, events/raids, scheduling, privacy, discussion forums, recruitment, and many other intangibles.

Ever try to get a group of people together in real life at the same time? Chances are someone has not shown up or didn’t RSVP. With video games the same is true; people need to be able to clearly see a guilds schedule of events on a calendar and be able to plan on attending or letting the guild leader know they can’t make it. Without this virtual home on the internet, guilds and clans would be left to hope X amount of members show up for their newest raid, or event. Now with guild hosting a guild leader can assess if they have enough members to go forward with an event rather than canceling.

Guilds and Clans can take advantage of private forums through a guild hosting provider to air out their indifference or discuss latest strategies, events, and recruitment. Without these private forums guilds and clans would be forced to discuss private/personal issues with guild members over a generic forum where non-members could view this. This is not acceptable so the guild host provider gives the guild/clan privacy as well as their own personal space. Discussing family matters at Dunkin Donuts is analgous to discussing recruitment with non members.

With the new age of guild clan website hosting providers springing up such as CharacterPlanet, it is becoming easier to match Virtual Characters looking for Guilds and Guilds looking for Virtual Characters. By taking the approach of matching Virtual Characters to Guilds/Clans rather than Real Life people to Guilds/Clans Character Planet gives its members ability to be virtually matched. Think E-harmony only for the Virtual Worlds. The ability to save hundreds of hours on recruitment is a greatly added benefit of guild clan hosting. When one views a guild site they can easily see what race/class level combinations the guild needs as well as what level equipment one should have or any stipulation such as, real life tournament experience for Counter Strike or Epic gear for World of Warcraft.

Hosting can also mean more notoriety within the gaming community. If you have a guild clan website it immediately gives your organization the credibility it deserves. This landing page for the curious, envious, and even your enemies will solidfy your position for that game or games. Fires of Heaven is a great example as their website received hundreds of thousands of hits. It is forming this buzz about ones guild that also leads to more recruits and of course more enemies.

Depending on what game one plays there are a myriad of guild website hosting templates and clan templates as well. A World of Warcraft guild website will certainly look different than a Halo or EverQuest site but the principles are the same. Whether you want to gain more credibility, become more organized as a leader, or create a sense of teamwork within your own guild/clan, guild clan website hosting is beneficial.

There are of course both paid and free hosting solutions. The paid services in the past have dominated but the free ones have made leaps and bounds to give the same services and better in some instances. Most of the paid providers lack a community wrapped around the hosting to make recruitment more tedious than necessary. Regardless of the route you choose, be sure to utilize the awesome power of immortalizing your Guild on the internet with a place you can call home.

Guild Advancement System in World of Warcraft – Cataclysm

5:33 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

During the BlizzCon 2009 event a new and quite exciting system was announced – the Guild Advancement System. From what the developers shared with us, it seems that the new system will allow the guild to level in a similar way to leveling characters. There will be total of 20 levels for guild progression and the experience gained will be obtained from the top 20 players (most active players) in the guild in terms of raid bosses killing, PvP battlegrounds victories, PvP arena matches victories, professions level and skilling up and alike. The very interesting feature, at least in my eyes is the fact that Guild XP can be farther converted into some sort of currency which can be used to buy guild-bound items. Similar to the account-bound items, such items can be something similar to the heirlooms just that it can be shared with other guild members, raid materials and such.

The way the Guild XP will be earned has some rules specified, however as the expansion is still under development, a lot can change. What we know so far is that participation in boss kills and rated battlegrounds will count towards Guild XP only if at least 75% of the party is from the same guild. The individual player’s advancements such as faction reputation advancements and profession advancements will count only from a number of players and not from the entire guild as total. This will allow smaller guilds to be able to compete with larger guilds as long as they have enough very active members.

The guilds will be awarded 1 guild-talent point as the guild advanced from one level to the next one, and this point can be used to get a guild-wide talent. There is very little information available at this point about what these talents will be, but we do know that these talents will be oriented towards giving more convenience in guild events rather than individual players performance bonuses. Such guild convenience abilities that will most likely be included are mass resurrection after a wipe, reduced cost on repairs, no reagents for raid-wide buffs and similar.

There are also Guild Achievements being implemented which will be quite similar to the Individual Player’s Achievements but will be applied to the guild as a whole. Such achievements will be awarded for clearing a raid instance, having at least one person with maximum profession points in each profession and much more.

It appears that Blizzard is giving us even more reasons to join a guild and stick to it, make new friends and explore the World of Warcraft universe with them, defeat powerful bosses and train our professions in the upcoming World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion.

Getting Started With Guild Wars – Eye of the North

5:33 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

The eagerly awaited expansion to the Guild Wars online RPG, Eye of the North, is now released. Eye of the North requires at least one of existing chapters of Guild Wars – Prophecies, Factions, or Nightfall. You can buy the expansion from a retailer, or it’s available from within your Guild Wars client by clicking on the Guild Wars Store icon. Purchasing the expansion this way will take effect immediately, allowing you to instantly explore the new content in Guild Wars: Eye of the North.

Each main town from the three existing Guild Wars chapters will have a new NPC (Non Player Character) – you’ll need to talk to them to receive the mission which takes you to Eye of the North: Characters from the original Guild Wars Prophecies campaign should seek out Len Caldoron in Lion’s Arch and accept the “What Lies Beneath” quest.

Characters from Guild Wars: Factions should seek out Minister of Maintenance Raiugyon in Kaineng Center and accept the “I Feel the Earth Move Under Cantha’s Feet” quest. Characters from Guild Wars: Nightfall should seek out Bendah in Kamadan and accept the “Hole of Istan” quest.

Once you have completed these missions you will find yourself in Boreal Station. You will also notice new purple Asura Gates have appeared on the map – these can be used to transport you direct to Boreal Station in the Eye of the North at any time. Within Eye of the North there are 4 new Title Tracks – Asura, Deldrimor, Ebon Vanguard, and Norn. By undertaking quests for each of the groups, you can gain reputation points, which will increase your rank in the new Title Tracks.

Once you have gained 1000 reputation points, you will reach Rank 1. You will now be able to gain a special Status Effect which will provide bonuses when exploring. As your rank in a Title Track increases, you’ll also open to access to new services:

Rank 3: Access to a special item crafter. Each group has a single item crafter who provides unique and powerful items. You must spend a Skill Point to have these items crafted for you.

Rank 4: Access to an exclusive weapon crafter. Each group has a single weapon crafter who provides unique weapons, such as the Raven Scythe and the Charrslayer Axe.

Rank 5: Access to an exclusive armor crafter. Each group has a single armor crafter who provides single unique armor pieces, such as the Dread Mask or the Magma Gauntlets.

As your Rank increases, so do the bonuses granted from the special status effect your character receives when displaying the Title. There are also 50 new PvE skills in Eye of the North, which can be gained by completing quests for each of the groups. These skills and bonuses will also become more powerful as your Rank in the relevant Title Track increases. Through these new Title Tracks, the Eye of the North expansion provides a lot of extra content and challenges.
