Guild Wars – Eye of the North – New Title Track and Map

5:37 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

Guild Wars: Eye of the North is the first true expansion to the original installment of the series, Guild Wars. The biggest addition found in Eye of the North is the introduction of two new races. The Asura and the Norn.

The Norn are introduced in the game first. The Norn are giant warriors that hail from the Far Shiverpeaks. The Norn are similar to druid classes in other games, as they have the ability to transform in to a bear during battle.

On the Guild Wars Eye of the North map you’ll see numerous Resurrection Shrines market by a dot. At each resurrection shrine, you’ll find a NPC that will give you 1 Reputation point for each dead creature. The ability to travel down multiple title tracks, is a feature introduced by Arenanet in Guild Wars: Nightfall. Now in Eye of the North you can ear random bonus that will skyrocket your reputation points from time to time. Just like any other Title Track, Reputation points are earned by completing Norn quests and cleaning out dungeons in the area. But now Resurrection Shrines offer you the chance to rack up many reputation points at one time.

The Norn Title Track is obviously a new addition as well. Following this Title Trac will earn you access to Norn NPC’s, Norn Skills, and all quests associated with that track. Norn are very stubborn and won’t even talk to you till you’ve reached Rank 1. At Rank 3 and Rank 4 you earn the ability for crafters to create consumables as well as weapons. At Rank 5 you’ll finally gain access to the Norn armorers.

The fun thing about climbing the ranks of the Norn Title Track is that for every new NPC that you talk to, they will challenge you to one battle before offering you there services. Partying up for these battles isn’t a bad idea.

You should be trying to earn the Norn Hunting Part Blessing as soon as possible. Without the blessing you can’t be rewarded bonuses at the shrines. You should remember that each NPC can only reward you a bonus but once. After the first 25 kills, you’ll be awarded a random bonus for every 5 kills there after during that battle.

Each time you upgrade Norn Hunting Party, you’ll also increase the number of reputation points you receive from these bonus battles. Use these bonus sparingly as you can only be reward once per NPC.

Guild Wars 2

5:36 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

Guild Wars came out several years ago and quite literally shocked the MMO world with its fast paced gameplay, innovative grind-less philosophy, and best of all: a lack of a monthly subscription fee. There were lots of different skills, a PVP system that was fun and balanced and constant expansions coming out bringing new content.

For several years now ArenaNet has been hard at work developing their brand new MMO world with new professions, new races, new gameplay modes, and brand new engine and story. After having looked at all the new features of Guild Wars 2, it’s safe to say that this game is a lock to be a great game, and definitely better than the original.

We must first start with the 5 new races that are available for play in Guild Wars 2. These new races aren’t simply visual candy used to separate the thousands of players playing at the same time as each other. In fact these new races will have their own starting areas for quests, they will have their own racial traits, and also they will possess unique racial abilities that will each give a specific kind of edge in actual combat.

Besides this, the game engine has been progressed quite significantly, and this is great news. The lore and story is meant to be very well produced this time around, with innovative storytelling methods promised by the game developers. Those who felt that the previous game’s mechanics were not well implemented will be pleased to hear that Guild Wars 2 game physics will be improved to be much more realistic and real life, with the new ability to jump and move freely within the newly expanded world.

The original Guild Wars had different servers for players looking for RPG and those who were interested in player vs player combat. This time around, there is no such distinction. Players can’t attack other players in the normal game mode in Guild Wars 2. You will only be allowed to attack opposing human players in one of the 2 PvP modes featured in the game.

The first PVP mode is aimed at hardcore players who like to engage in eSport and are ultra competitive. This game mode can be entered by anyone, and the item/skills/characters will be balanced out regardless of how you are itemed in the normal world. This balanced game mode will allow Guilds to fight other Guilds and will be the competitive ladder system that many MMO players have come to expect from top of the line online games.

The other PVP mode is for casual players and will even let get experience and level while playing. The items and level you play with here are exactly the same as what you have in the normal game mode. Many different objectives will be given as you try to help your world (server) defeat opposing worlds in exchange for permanent boosts and rewards.

Having said all this, Guild Wars 2 is still quite a long way away from being released. The current prediction for Guild Wars 2’s release is somewhere at the beginning of 2011. There will surely be other Guild Wars 2 news until then, so do keep checking back for updates.

I’m a longtime MMO player who is actively following Guild Wars 2 news and developments as they happen. Hope this Guild Wars 2 preview has helped inform you about this highly anticipated game.

Guild Recruitment in World of Warcraft

5:36 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

Recruiting for a guild can be one of the hardest tasks you’ll encounter in World of Warcraft. Forget those Heroic Instances and 40 person raids. Guilds are a tightly knit community and without the right starting position, it will be less than easy to get going. So, what is the best way to approach getting started when you don’t have a foot in the door?

First off, don’t go around saying things like “We just want to get together and raid and have fun.” Everyone starts by saying things like this and it won’t necessarily get you anywhere. This is understood. In fact, if you were not going to have fun and raid, why would anyone want to join the guild in the first place?

The Goal of Your Guild

The first step is to explain what the actual goal of your guild is, in detail. When you write your recruiting message, tell them to tell you to get further details and be ready to respond. Are you a raiding guild, a social guild, or an Arena guild? Whatever your primary goal is going to be, make sure you have a detailed plan and response for the question that everyone will ask you – what is your goal?

Explain Your Recruitments

No one wants to join a guild just because you’re looking for a lot of people to join. They want to feel important, so make sure you have a good reason for inviting each person you invite. If you invite someone, make sure it’s because you heard good things about them or they are a solid Hunter with the right kind of pet (which you are looking for). Whatever reason, make sure you have a good answer.

The Other Requirements

Always tell people your requirements up front. Don’t start kicking people later for not being online a certain amount of hours every day when you never told them that was a requirement. People will start to quit and get angry if you fail to be upfront and start leveling what they feel are unfair requirements.

So, whether you require guild meetings that might last an hour or raiding sessions that might last four, make sure you tell them up front what will be required of them.

Level Requirements

Make sure you don’t invite people to join your guild that will not meet future level requirements you might set. If you choose to have constant raids that require level 60 and up, don’t invite people that are level 54. It’s not fair to them and you’re not being forthcoming. Always keep a minimum and maximum level in mind when you invite people so that no one ever feels left out.

Generally, make sure you think of the guild members when you get started on a new guild. Always talk to them first and make sure they know what’s expected and that they can meet your requirements. If you are honest up front and fair to your members, your guild might just have a chance of succeeding.

Guild Guitars – The Stradavari of Guitars

5:35 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

Writing a review of Guild Guitars has been a pleasure. I love these things and have owned several since the 1960’s. My first acoustic and first 12-string were both Guilds. They play as well today as they did 45 years ago, in fact, they play better. Talk about something built to last a lifetime… Guild makes just that.

The Company has been producing the finest quality electric and acoustic guitars since 1953 and they’re going strong. Once dubbed, “The Stradavari Of Guitars, ” Guild has continued to live up to their name for close to sixty years. The list of musicians who choose the Guild brand include Eric Clapton, Richie Havens, Paul Simon and George Benson, among many others.

First headquartered in New York City, the brand is now located in New Hartford, Connecticut. There, they continue to supply discriminating musicians around the world with uncompromisingly crafted guitars that are beautiful, strong and balanced. Innovation continues and evolving quality control just keeps making the brand better and better as the years go by.

You probably know that good things aren’t cheap and cheap things aren’t good and, in that respect, Guilds are Good, but not cheap. You get what you pay for, right? Well, let’s hope so, anyway. With Guild, you get the best for not the most. That’s a pretty good arrangement.

The Woodstock Rock Festival in 1969 saw the beginning of fame for many of the artists playing the venue. Richie Havens stands out as one of those ‘hardly-knowns’ who exploded with popularity after the concert was made into a music album and, later a movie. Richie sat there, center stage, hammering on his Guild D-40 Dreadnought with his rendition of ‘Motherless Child’ retitled ‘Freedom’. It was a moment in history many will always recall, and Guild was there.

Nothing compares with Guild Guitars in quality sound, quality looks and instrument durability. Plenty of guitars cost more, but that doesn’t mean they’re better. And plenty cost less, but you can be guaranteed they won’t measure up to this fine American Guitar tradition.
