How to Become a Screen Actors Guild Member

5:42 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

The Screen Actors Guild is a union. It’s a union of actors, producers and crew. The union itself does not make movies. SAG enforces minimum wages, collects and distributes residuals, enforces standard working conditions and offers health care.

In Los Angeles and New York, most productions are “closed shops”. That means you must be a member of the SAG union to participate as an actor, or that minimum numbers of SAG members must be hired before non-union actors are hired. You need to have a credit as principal from a SAG production to become a member. So, it’s a bit difficult to join when you need SAG credits, but cannot work unless you are a SAG member. Often it’s easier to get SAG credits in a state where SAG cannot operate as a “closed shop”. You can get credits on SAG projects, then become a member and pursue roles in New York or Los Angeles. You can also sometimes get credits by working as an extra.

Conversely, SAG members are not to participate in non-union projects. The Screen Actors Guild refers to this a rule one. That provides the encouragement for most major productions to become SAG productions. Any production that is non-union has eliminated a large segment of the working actors from casting.

In addition to the credit requirement to join, there are union dues. A one time initiation fee is charged to join. Yearly dues must then be paid to remain a member of the Screen Actors Guild.

A similar union is the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists or AFTRA. While SAG covers the film industry, AFTRA covers television and radio. AFTRA provides the same protections for those working in the mentioned mediums.

Guild Wars Warrior Farming Guide

5:41 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

Guild Wars gold is needed for every reason and that is why farming for items to get you gold is a neccessity. A warrior can farm alot of gold just by soloing. Farming smite crawlers in the Underworld can gain you lots of gold that I’m sure we can all use.

The Build includes the following skills, Vengeful was Khanhei, Vengeful weapon, resilient weapon, watch yourself, dolyak signet, healing signet, bonetti’s defence, and sprint. Other speed buffs would help as well.

To start you’ll need to get out of the chamber by using speed buffs to evade the Aatxes. After losing them they will return to its original location. This build is unable to defeat Aatxes so thus running would be a good idea.

Upon entering you will need to get the quest from the Lost Soul. If you aggro and mobs you will have to sprint back to the cliff where you started. If you aggro a Dying Nightmare you should be able to kill it with Vengeful Weapon twice. Once you have received the quest many monsters will pop up on your min map. Graspin gDarkness’s are not difficult to handle, lure them them out and kill them. Usually a group of 3 to 4 will come at a time. If you manage to aggro anymore Aatxes just run back to the cliff.

Once lured hit Dolyak with your sword or axe until Bonetti’s is charged, then use Vengeful was Khanhei. Rinse and repoeat until they are all dead. Once the 3 groups of grasping are dead you can escape the chamber. It’s important that you take out the graspings because they interrupt and energy drain, which can be handled using Bonetti’s.

It usually takes about 30 minutes to complete and you would be able to collect 1 or more Globs of Ectoplasm, and 2000 gold worth of drops. A glob of ectoplasm sells for about 8,000 gold. Each run you can get a total of 10,000 gold minus the 1,000 entry. Within an hour you should be able to collect at least 18,000 gold. Not too bad I would say. I usually would prefer to buy the gold myself than to spend that hour farming it. 100,000 gold only costs about $10.

Josie Lee prefers to spend the time pvping than farming for Guild Wars gold. She is able to farm 18,000 Guild Wars gold an hour, which is only worth about $2. Her job definitely pays more than grinding Guild Wars gold.

Guild wars is a massively multiplayer online role playing game that is made up of a series of campaigns of which Prophecies is the first. Prophecies was launched in 2005 and its story revolves around the prophecies of an ancient dragon, the Flameseeker Prophecy.

Prophecies is the first Guild Wars campaign and it was in this game that the core professions were introduced these consisted of the warrior, the elementalist, the ranger, the monk, the necromancer and the mesmer. The warrior is character with high armor who wields a variety of weapons their energy comes from adrenaline skills that need to be charged up after a certain number of games.

The elementalist casts spells and specializes in the elements of earth, air fire and water characters in this profession can be offensive, defensive or a combination of those two things. The ranger uses a bow, has moderate armor and often has a pet with them. The monk specializes in defense and in the healing arts, it is also a spell casting profession, usually a healer the monk has the ability to call down holy wrath on its adversaries. Necromancers are also spell casters they cast hexes, steal life and have the abilityu to summon up undead minions. The mesmer also casts spells and specializes in the manipulation of energies. The world where the game takes place is known as Tyria.

There are twenty five missions in Prophecies story line and there are certain objectives to be fulfilled in each one by a team of four to eight and non-playing characters that are managed by the players. Prophecies introduced different arenas where player versus player battles are played out. In Guild Wars the game world is not static or timeless but subject to change with stories that advance in time.

Prophecies had two high end dungeons that are accessible by the avatars of the in game gods and has some of the best weapons and armor in the series. This makes it one of the most intensively farmed areas. Farming refers to the process whereby players aquire gold or other valuable items to help them progress in the game. Like all Guild Wars campaigns the action takes place through either player versus player action or player versus environment.

In Prophecies as in all Guild Wars campaigns players have to build their characters using a maximum of eight skills, which can include one elite skill. Unlike the basic skills elite skills cannot be bought. Since the release of Prophecies a number of other campaigns have been launched including Nightfall and Factions.

Guild Wars Maps

5:40 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

Maps have always been a part of Guild Wars. Maps are a great feature that can really help you and your party navigate your way across the Kingdoms of Ascalon. By default the map is displayed in the bottom right corner of your screen. The maps found in Guild Wars will allow you to see enemies, beasts, and NPC’s from a distance. For simplicity’s sake, green dots indicate and ally on the map and a red dot indicates an enemy on the map.

In Guild Wars Eye of the North, Arenanet introduced dungeons as a more important part the game. As a result they also had to introduce new maps for the dungeons. Dungeons on the map are displayed in total darkness until they have been thoroughly explored. The only way to make your way around the dungeons until then is with the help of the dungeon maps that can be found near the entrances of dungeons. These maps aren’t very detailed but they’re enough to get about the dungeons without any frustration. Dungeons maps will display dungeon bosses, keys and doors to the next or previous level.

If the default maps that come with Guild Wars aren’t enough for you, you can also download third party extensions that can enhance your map with any number of features. Many third party maps are capable of displaying fulls maps of any region or area. Some have the ability to search for cities, enemies, NPC’s and more in just a few clicks. Try out a few third party maps so you can figure out which one is the best for your tastes. A good extension will also include all the dungeon maps.

If you are having trouble getting through the dungeons in Guild Wars Eye of the North, you can turn to the internet to help you through them. Many websites offer detailed maps and walkthroughs to get you through even the most difficult and confusing dungeons. Chances are that you’ll be able to find any dungeon walkthrough online pretty easily.

Learning to read your map in Guild Wars is an essential skill that is required for smart playing of the game. Without being able to comprehend the map with ease, you’ll find yourself lost in dungeons and running in circles unaware that you’re heading right back to where you started. Luckily, Guild Wars made their maps easy to read and you really wouldn’t be able to play the game without them.
