World of Warcraft – The Guild Bank

5:54 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

At the very beginning of World of Warcraft, there were no guild banks. Quickly, Blizzard realized the need for such a tool, as the guilds were struggling storing their materials collected from various raid instances. As a result, these new banks were officially introduced to the game.

Guild bank is an in-game storage interface accessible for everyone who is a member of the guild. Additionally, some access rights can be given in order to make sure that only certain rank guild members can withdraw money and items from the bank. It is the guild master who has the option to set view/ deposit/withdraw rights for the different guild ranks and this makes the bank interface completely customize-able by the guild and not by Blizzard.

The guild banks were placed right next to the players’ banks areas in all major cities and are accessible the same way as the personal banks. The difference is that the guild bank tabs are much larger and it is much more expensive to buy additional tabs. A guild tab has 98 item slots and the first tab costs 100 gold to purchase. After that the prices for each successive tab increase – 250, 500, 1000, 2500 and 5000 gold, which makes a total of 9350 gold for all tabs.

One of the differences between player bank and guild bank is that the guild bank can store money and players can use the money from the guild bank to pay for their repairs. A special interface was also added at all repair vendors, allowing the players to use not their own but the guild money to pay for their repairs. Most of the guilds use this option only for repairs during raids – it is again the guild master who can turn this feature on and off as they see fit. In my guild, we use the guild money for repairs only on progress raid evenings – when we are working on defeating a new boss and we wipe numerous times while learning the fight. After we have managed to kill the boss, we no longer use the money from the guild for repairs; we pay with our own money. Some guilds also use their guild gold to buy materials to craft flask, food buffs and everything else needed for successful raid. I’m not sure if casual guilds use guild money for something like that, as most likely they do not run strong guild economy to produce this money in first place. For example, my guild was making money for the guild bank by selling patterns, cartables and other rare items obtainable only from the end game raid instances and this was helping us have money for repairs and flasks.

The access to the bank is fully controllable by the guild master – he or she can decide which ranks from the guild can view, deposit and withdraw items and money. This can be done for each separate tab and additionally a withdraw limit can be set. This all makes using guild bank easy and stress free for everyone, so we are very thankful to blizzard for introducing the guild banks in patch 2.3

Guild Wars Gold

5:39 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

Luckily for you, Guild Wars gold is among the cheapest massive online multiplayer currencies available. A good Guild Wars gold program will be able to deliver your gold to any character on any server in less than an hour. You obviously need to be available to accept the gold from the Guild Wars Gold delivery service. Never pay more than $10 for 100,000 in gold. Guild Wars gold is very cheap, don’t get tricked into purchasing gold for any more.

Not only can you buy Guild Wars gold from any number of web sites, but you can also sell your gold to them too. These companies obviously need to make a profit, so don’t expect a whole lot in return for your virtual goods. But if you really go all out and sell everything you can expect to make a nice hand full of cash.

If you’ve got gold coming out of your ears and would rather prefer to buy items, you can do that too. Many online trading services will have store like setups for MMO items. There’s a wide selection of Guild Wars items available all for only a few dollars each.

Most virtual good traders have stores setup for each of the stand alone campaigns as well as gold and items for the Eye of the North expansion pack. Unlike cheating to obtain gold, purchasing Guild Wars gold is totally safe, and theres little to no chance of getting caught for doing it.

If you want an all around service you may consider purchasing a power leveling package. After you purchase one of the packages, you’re account needs to be accessed. Then the service will take the responsibility of leveling your character. As you reach higher levels it will begin to cost slightly more as it is far more difficult to level already high level characters.

An obvious way to save money when buying Guild Wars gold is to buy in bulk. If you’re willing to pay $40 more than the basic package you can get over 500 thousand in gold. That 500 thousand will last you a very long time and you never have to worry about buying gold again.

With all of these 3 services combined you can have a fully developed character in less than a day. A high level character, with large amounts of gold, and the best weapons and armor are now all obtainable in less then a day for way less than $50.

Distributing the Loot With Your Guild in World of Warcraft

5:30 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

Any well organized end-game raiding guild focused on PvE progression needs to have a method for distributing the loot. The reason such system is needed is because often the players wish to put a lot of effort, money and time into raiding only if they know that they have an equally fair chance of obtaining the items they want from the loot. It is only fair that the people who work hardest on learning the new encounters and eventually beating them deserve such items more than players who have showed for 1 kill only after the boss is already on loot status. However, sometimes less geared players do benefit more from items than the veterans who have pretty much everything. So how should the guild be able to make it fair for everyone?

The short answer is that there is no simple solution. The long answer is that it takes a lot of team work to make things as fair as possible, but there is no ideal solution for everything and the lead of the guild often has to make decisions on the go when it comes to loot. Here are the loot distribution systems which are used more often with their down and up sides:

DKP (Dragon Kill Points) – this loot distribution system has been known in MMO games ever since Everquest and is quite popular. How does it work? The players earn DKP for being in the raid and these points are stored in a database or addon, depending on the choice the guild made. When an item drops, all players who are interested in getting it express interest in some way (placing a bid in a bid channel, whispering to the raid leader and so on) and the player with highest DKP or willing to pay most DKP for the item wins.

Downside: the more active players will get large DKP pool and will be able to take an item any time they wish even if it is better suited on another player’s character.

Upside: makes it all clear and obvious and everyone knows how much DKP they have / can spend as well as the players from the guild who have better chances in getting the items before your turn comes.

Loot Council – some guilds use this loot distribution system which consists of group of players (raid leader and officers) who decide which member of the raid group will get the item depending on who they think will need it most. This loot distribution system is easy to maintain as it requires no record keeping, but it is difficult to ensure that it is fair to everyone. Normally, the goal of this system is not to be fair – it is to ensure the success of the raid by awarding the items to key players first such as Main Tanks gets all the tanking bits first.

Downside: it is very difficult to convince everyone in the guild that the loot is distributed in a fair way, especially if there are people who also wanted the item and think they need it most. In order for Loot Council system to succeed, the guild needs to be similar minded and the Loot Council members must have everyone’s trust and support on their decisions.

Upside: you can gear up your key players easier and ensure some quicker progress – gearing up your main tank that is there for every raid is much more beneficial to the raid group than gearing up someone who shows up now and then.

No matter which loot distribution system your guild chooses, there is no magic formula for success. There will always be players who are not completely happy with the loot distribution; however minimizing the number of unhappy people should be doable. You can’t make everyone happy, but team work requires some hard decision to be made for everyone’s good.

Atlantica Guild Points

5:28 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

Increasing Guild Points

Creating a guild has great advantages for players in Atlantica. You will have alot of people to quest or grind with making Atlantica one of the most community friendly games i have ever played. With a guild you can create crafting jobs that when completed can be shared to all the guild members. For example: crafting a ton of potions would help the guild heal or recover mana and save their money that way. Potions is just a simple example of what types of jobs you can craft for the guild. There are much more rewarding benefits and crafting jobs available.

Everytime you complete a crafting job gain some guild points which is essential to your guilds growth and levels. There are TWO main ways to gather guild points for the guild. I will start with the first one as you don’t have a choice in the other option in the beginning until you obtain a town as that is the goal. A minor way to get some easy guild points is to have your members not log off the game when they are done playing! You get guild points for people being online and active.

Guild Quests!

These are important to purchase early on especially when a guild is first created as the first few days are very crucial of your growth and success of your guild. You can start a guild quest by purchasing a Managers Scroll from the market. Once again there are levels of Manager Scrolls that you can purchase (Beg, Int, Adv). You can right click these scrolls and get a guild quest and you complete them like you would any other quest, once you complete it you will automatically get the guild points and experience or gold that might have come along with the quest.

Once you get enough points you will be able to gain more levels to your guild and be able to recruit more members. I would encourage members to do 3-4 guild quests a day (they don’t take too long). Your main goal when starting your guild is to get that TOWN! I would recommend that you save at least 3k-3.5k guild points before you make a bid on a town. Don’t worry too much about what town you get in the beginning although a popular town would be awesome but would have more competition. Once you have the town you can save up to contest other higher level ones.

Town Quests + Buildings!

Once you have taken control of a town you have the ability to complete town quests which in my opinion are a little tougher than normal guild quests. The degree of difficulty also depends on what level you are also. I have found town quests to be a little more convenient to do though. To start a town quest you must have a Manager Scroll just like with guild quests. Just right click.

Helpful tip when doing guild, town, or normal quests: Particularly in town quests and guild quests and in some cases normal quests you will be asked to kill monsters that you have no idea of where they might be. Unless you someone that likes to explore and do less grinding then you will get a little frustrated. Share Monster INFO! if you have enough Will then ask your guild or ask friends to share the info for the monster if they have it. If you can get 3 parts of information on a single monster you can directly teleport to it or automove if you choose. This will save you tons of time when you want to get quests done quickly and do less frantic searching.

Town Buildings!

You can also get a bunch of guild points by starting and completing town buildings. But just like crafting a job with the guild your guild members must be active to complete the job. After every battle you will complete a portion of certain jobs or buildings by a certain amount depending on level and what level monsters being defeated.

A Newbie’s Guild to Building Your Own Opt-In List

5:26 am by admin. Filed under: Guild Guide

It seems pretty obvious, with all the talk of “The Money’s In The List” and how you need to build your own list of opt-in subscribers to survive online, but it is amazing to me how many network marketers do not do this? I’ll admit that I did not when I first started out. I was just so excited and desperate to recruit people into my business that I just pitched my company replicated website. And, I didn’t know how to do it. I see too many people doing this. I think they do it partly because they do not know how to do it any other way and partly because they do not want to spend the necessary couple of bucks that are required to minimally set up your business the right way. If you are one of those people who is not building their own list but know that you should, this article will outline the necessary tools.

AUTO-RESPONDER: It is absolutely essential that you subscribe to an auto-responder service. I use AWeber which is considered by most to be the premier service, but there are others. It is not recommended that you use a free service. You need an auto-responder to capture your leads “name” and “email address” (and “phone number” if you choose). Once a lead is subscribed to your auto-responder, you will be able to automatically email market to those people until they either buy, join your business, or unsubscribe.

SETTING UP YOUR AUTO-RESPONDER: It can seem confusing at first but setting up your auto-responder is pretty simple. These are the steps to get you up and running:

* Create Your List: You will first need to create your list. If you are marketing Pyxism like me,you can create a list called “StevePyxism” (all list names must be unique within all of Aweber). The site takes you through the necessary steps to create your list.
* Follow-Up Messages: This is not required but a good idea. You can create a series of follow-up emails that will go to everyone who signs up to your list. Once you write these and set them up, the emails will be sent automatically to your list at the intervals you select (i.e. daily, every 2 days, weekly, etc.).
* Create Your Webform: The “webform” is the opt-in box where your prospects will enter their contact information and become your lead. There are many designs to choose from. After you create your webform, you will be given html code of the form that you need to copy and paste into your lead capture page or blog.

LEAD CAPTURE PAGE: Another essential tool. Whenever you join a business or affiliate program, you are given a company replicated website and an affiliate ID. You can just market your affiliate url and get sign-ups. The problem with this approach is that you will be marketing the same site as everyone else AND you will not be capturing the information of the people who see your site but do not sign up. With a lead capture page, which is tied to your auto-responder, you can design a unique page that is not being marketed all over the internet PLUS your prospects will need to enter their information first to see your replicated site and decide if they want to sign up. You can either buy lead capture pages and have them hosted for you OR you can create your own (like I do…I use AcademyTeamSolutions lead capture pages since I’m a member) and host them yourself (you can also host with ATS) which is the less expensive way to go if you want to create multiple lead capture pages.

* Creating Your Own Lead Capture Page: To create your own lead capture page, you will need an html editor. I am self-taught so don’t get scared off by html…besides the editors are have WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) so you can just design the page how you would like it to look and the editor takes care of the html for you for the most part. There are plenty of free html editors online. I use Kompozer. After you create your capture page, you will need to save it and upload it (as “Index.html) to your server (I use both Viral Hosts and ATS, but you can also host with your domain company). Any images that you have on your capture page should be contained in your “images” folder on your site’s server. That’s it!

YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN DOMAIN: Buying your own domains is required. I purchase mine from GoDaddy, which I have found to have the best customer service of the different domain companies that I have purchased from. You can purchase “.info” domains for £1.07 for a year. “.Com” domains will run you about £10 a year. After you purchase your domain, you will need to point the “nameservers” to your hosting company (unless you use GoDaddy for hosting). That process takes a few minutes.

NOW…all you have to do is market your lead capture page or blog to start building your very own list (that’s the more difficult but fun part of our business!).

Your Partner in Success,

Steve
